Our house has been quite the party location of late. And fun times require intensive cleaning and unhealthy (fabulous) foods. Yesterday we were visited by some of our super-sweet friends from Colorado visiting their sister (who's about two or three hours away from us). Although it was a brief visit, it was such a blessing to catch up with them, since it had been a year since I last saw two of them! We reminisced a bit, but mainly talked about our plans for the future. Being in or out of college, it's the season of life to talk about "whaddya gonna do".
One day I would really like another slumber-party with Olivia Grace and Sarah. In high school, we had fun sleepovers that consisted of secret-spilling, delicious junk-food, and scary or romantic movies (depending on how brave we were feeling). We could stay up easily starting on Saturday into the wee hours of the morning, and then freak out over how we were going to stay awake in church the following Sunday.
When I wasn't hugging or laughing with them all, I was distracted by the most adorable baby ever. He's the son of their older sister. He's fluent in baby-talk and has the most precious smile. It had been such a long time since I had fun goofing around with a baby... maybe because I don't have any friends near by who have any; I'm so much more at ease with kids of people I know. He was so precious and memorable that I brought him up to my mom today; she responded that I would have to be careful to not spoil my own kids one day. "Spoil your relatives' kids, but not your own," she told me. It'll be hard, I have to admit... especially if they're cute.
All in all, what a happy reunion it was! I can't wait for the next one - I hope it's sooner than later!
Now we've been preparing for some more friends visiting tomorrow. Cleaning, shopping, baking cookies... the works. Speaking of, I need to get back to cleaning. To distract myself from eating the cookies.
Blessings~
